Time to Reflect

The new year has always been a time of looking back and looking ahead, a time of hope, renewal and determination to move forward, learning from both the successes and mistakes of the past.
As mothers, fathers, entrepreneurs, work at home moms/dads, women, men, we often find ourselves with not enough time in the day. Why is this? New technology and the conveniences offered by businesses should give us more time than ever. Why are we then too busy to make a phone call, write a note, return an email, work on some of our own projects or just sit down to read a book or magazine? Too many of us say, “I’m just too busy to…..” Are you the reason for your own lack of time? Examining what you do on a daily basis can shed light on what your time-waster really is.
We need to be more mindful of our time and of our relationships. It’s truly worth it. Take the time to return that e-mail, to make that phone call, to drop a card – even an e-card – to someone else. Nurturing relationships with ourselves and with one another keeps us in touch with our authentic selves –our dreams and goals– and with friends and family. A support system is so important as we go through the stages of our lives!
Take this year to work with each other – to build on your successes as well as take advantage of the opportunities and adventures that lie ahead for you and yours.
Many heartfelt blessings to you and yours in 2010.
Do not squander time for that is the stuff life is made of.
Benjamin Franklin
