These are Times to Remember

No, it’s not Music Tuesdays, but I wanted to take the time to tell you to take the time. This is for all the parents out there.

Take the time to help your child put together a puzzle.

Take the time to show your child how to help you clean, whether it be rubbing the wall with a baby wipe (which actually can help remove crayon) or rinsing dishes in the sink. Yes, it will be messy, but they will be happy helping you. And it’s good training for later!

Take the time to read a book with your child. You’re not too busy and checking your email can wait. Even if the book is five pages long, you both will enjoy that time. I read the book “Biscuit Goes to School” with my children and although I felt that these careless children should have been more responsible with their dog and NOT allowed him to go to school, my children loved it.

Take the time to listen to them explain those wacky pictures that they draw. Those few stick and circles on a piece of paper really means something to them. Listen to them as they tell the story, I promise you, you’ll get a laugh!

Childhood is so fast. I can clearly remember when my first born was in my arms in the hospital and now he’s going to kindergarten and writing his name. Where did the time go, I wonder sometimes, but then I remember all the little times we spend together and I’m glad that I took the time.
