Well, let me tell you, this one got past me bigtime.  And I consider myself a movie buff, although many of the movies in the last few years or so have certainly not inspired me to part with my $12.00, (actually $40.00, if you want some snacks and take yr. hubby) to see any of them.  I beleive the last movie that I saw in the theatre was Spiderman 3.  And I was NOT impressed. 

 However, I do digress.  Here’s the story.  One night DH and I were desperately searching throught the 300 plus channels we have on digital cable to find something to watch.  Yes, I wrote and you read 300 channels.  Certainly, some of them are High Def dupes of the network channels and there are some movie channels that we don’t subscribe to.  Either way, we couldn’t find anything to watch until DH suggested Pirates of the Carribean.  No, I had never seen this film until this year.  So, in three nights, we watched Pirates 1, Pirates 2 and Pirates 3.  As a side note, I preferred Pirates 1, then Pirates 2.  I could barely follow Pirates 3….but maybe I’m just too old. 

Goddess, what’s up with the Wilhelm Scream??? We’re totally dying to know.  Ok, ok, sorry readers, the goddess did a little birdwalking there.  After I’ve seen each movie, I click on over to http://www.imdb.com/, one of my fav. movie sites.  (the other is http://www.themoviespoiler.com/ so I don’t have to go to the theatre.)  In reading the trivia for one of the film, I noticed a mysterious notation called the wilhelm scream.   Turns out this is a stock sound of a scream that has been used in the movies since the 50s.  Hmmm, intriguing……clicked on over to youtube, and guess what…..there is a compilation of the use of the wilhelm scream in these movies.  Enjoy!!
