It’s been awhile, right?
Hi there readers!
I know it’s been a while since I’ve written, but sometimes it’s hard to get in everything I want to do in a in single day. Plus, it’s been soooo nice outside that I’ve spent most of my time sitting out on the deck, watching the little ones dig in the dirt. Why they like digging in the dirt is beyond me, but it keeps them quiet and clean up is easy. Of course, they use gallons and gallons of water in their quest for the perfect mud pie, but it’s easier to clean dirt than paint out of their clothes.
What has the goddess been up to? Well, I’ve been working on a new site and a new blog: take a sneak peek here: www.neosoulmama.info is all about raising black children (at which of course I’m an undisputed expert – NOT!) and sheaproducts.info (which is the sister site for neosoulessentials.com. Why the 2nd site, you may ask? Well, it uses Zen Cart, which was a challenge for me to learn, but now I’ve got something new under my belt, thanks to the forums, and it has a bit more functionality than my first site. So there you go.
Now to more domestic stuff – Mr. Mookie lost another tooth, which none of us were aware of until I happened to look in his mouth and see there were less teeth than before. I have no intention of um….looking for the lost tooth, which I assume he swallowed. Interesting enough, he doesn’t have that much interest in the tooth fairy which is good because the last time, I forgot to put the tooth under his pillow.
Mr. J is as cute as ever – and he’s talking and making his presence known, which isn’t as cute as he looks. What a pushy little gremlin he is!!! You want juice? (nodding) I pick up some Sunny Delight (ok, before y’all start hollering about how much sugar is in that etc, I DO add some water so it’s not so sweet, but keep reading). Mr. J: NO! I pick up some Iced Tea. Mr. J: NO! Finally, having taught me a lesson, I pick up the 100% apple juice. Mr. J.: Nods and hold out his hands. So, who’s the health freak here!!!
As I wrote in a previous post, none of my children will have anything to do with orangeades, limeades, and kind of -ades. Only 100% juice for them, mind you. I’m a bit of a fan of those horribly cheap Ramen Noodles. Are they? Nope. Only whole wheat spaghetti with parmesan cheese and a bit of butter, thank you. Maybe some broccoli on the side too. Ugh! But secretly I’m smug and glad that they like healthful things.
Now I’m being bothered for breakfast (how dare they disturb me while I’m spewing genius). I will write more later.
Check me out on my various blogs (alert – shameless plugs…..www.neosoulmama.info, my business blog.
