August is Here

Well, I’ve survived most of the summer trying to entertain three children under the age of six, and I think I was pretty successful. They are still here, and I still have my hair. Howver, there were times during this whole situation that I dreamed of day care and times when they would be out of the house. Then, I’d shake myself, paste on my cruise director’s smile and engage in whatever game they were playing at the time. For some reason, my oldest son has become fascinated with knights and armor and swords and walks around the house riding a broom stick (which he claims is his horse). It is such fun, especially when he turns unexpectedly and knocks either his brother or sister with the broom end of the stick. (I’m fast enough to duck.)

I guess it’s good that he has a good imagination, but sometimes (very rarely, but sometimes) I wish they could just SIT STILL FOR A SECOND and give me a moment of peace. Seems like each time I plop myself in a seat to obtain much needed oxygen, they’re right there, “mommy, mommy, mommy” . I tell you, seems like it might be easier just to go to work.

Anyway, that’s all that’s going on the domestic front - hope y’all have a great weekend!
